KTM TECH’s auto packing machine automatically packs various profiles of steel tubes (e.g. round, square, hexagonal, octagonal and more) into bundles suitable for handling and transportation, where the maximum number of tubes each bundle accommodates can be tailored exactly to the customer’s packaging task. The machine with its built-in wrapper offers fully automated process from stacking to bundling, forming final homogeneous packages with improved safety and productivity, compared to manual methods.

Features

The Machine is designed such that a pocket (packing stand) lowers to receive pipes from the finish line and collected pipes are stacked in layers by pipe size. When the given stacking count or height is reached, the pile will automatically be wrapped.

Main parts of the Auto Steel-Tube Packing Line

  1. 1
    Lifting Conveyor (Attach Conveyor)
    • Finished pipes are loaded onto the lifting conveyor.
  2. 2
    Aligning Device
    • Makes one end of loaded pipes to be aligned, before bundling.
  3. 3
    Feeding Conveyor
    • Transports pipes to the fork feeder along Conveyor I and Conveyor II.
  4. 4
    Pusher
    • Prevents pipe falling by gravity when pipes are laid forming hexagonal layers in the lift pocket.
  5. 5
    Fork Feeder
    • Transports pipes incoming from Conveyor II to the lifter pocket, before pipe bundling.
  6. 6
    Lift Pocket
    • Is a container where pipes are stacked in a hexagonal form.
    • The fork feeder transports pipes one by one to the lifter pocket.
    • Pipes transported by the fork feeder are stacked in the lifter pocket, before bundling.

    Moving Pocket
    • Transports hexagon-formed bundles to the wrapping machine.
    • The lifter pocket performs bundling when the height of pipe layers is reached as commanded, before moving towards the wrapping machine.

    Bundle feeding conveyor
    • Transports each hexagon-formed bundle to the wrapping machine, using a series of rollers in a frame.
  9. 9
    Strapping machine
    • The double-head strapping mechanism automatically loops over a bundle and fastens to keep it stable.
    • It is a wrapping machine that tightly secures a variety of steel products such as steel coil, via the automated process for feeding steel wire/band, winding and sealing the packaging of articles.
